Temporary Mitigation of the 12” & 20” Peace Pipelines on the Athabasca River and Sakwatamau Creek.
Athabasca River: construction of a rock groyne located upstream of the crossing to mitigate further bank erosion. The rock groyne consists of class 2 & class 3 rip-rap with a volume of 6000 cubic meters.
Sakwatamau Creek: construction of rock slope located downstream of the two pipeline crossings to reduce the potential scour over the pipelines. The sock slope will consist of rip-rap and measure approximately 50 meters wide.
